Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using signatures.com (the "Site") and our tools, including the email signature generator. In this AUP, "we", "us" or "our" means Signatures Media Ltd, and "Your Content" means any information, data, images or other material that you upload, submit or make available through your use of the Site or its tools.
It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. In the event of conflict, the Terms of Use prevail.
By using the Site, you agree to comply with this AUP. This AUP forms part of the legally binding terms governing your use of the Site. You acknowledge that any breach of this AUP may result in action under our Terms of Use, including suspension or restriction of access to the Site. This AUP applies to all use of the Site and any content or materials made available through it.
1. General conduct
You must use the Site lawfully. You must not:
- use the Site in any way that breaches applicable laws or regulations, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- use the Site or its content in a misleading, deceptive or unlawful manner, including in a way that suggests endorsement or legal accuracy where none is provided;
- infringe our intellectual property rights or those of anyone else;
- transmit malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site, for example by overloading it, or by using bots, scrapers, automated tools or any other means to extract, copy or monitor content or data except where expressly permitted by our
robots.txt; - reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of our tools, except to the extent the law permits;
- use any content from the Site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent;
- collect, store or process personal data obtained from the Site except in compliance with applicable data protection law;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organisation.
Nothing in this AUP grants you any rights to use the Site or its content other than as expressly permitted in the Terms of Use.
2. The email signature generator and content you upload
The signature generator lets you upload images (such as a profile photo, company logo or banner) which we store and host at a public URL so they can display inside your email signature. When you upload an image ("Your Content"), you confirm and agree that:
- you own Your Content, or have all rights and permissions needed to upload it and to allow us to host and display it;
- Your Content does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- Your Content is not unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable, and does not contain personal data of others unless you have a valid lawful basis to use and share that data, and have provided any required notices;
- you will not upload images of other people without their knowledge and agreement.
You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content complies with all applicable laws, including data protection, intellectual property, and privacy laws.
You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, host, reproduce and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the functionality of the tool and hosting the image for your signature. This licence ends when the image is deleted. Because a hosted image is served at a public URL so that it appears in your signature, anyone with access to that URL may be able to view, copy or share the image. Do not upload anything you would not want hosted publicly.
You can ask us to delete an uploaded image at any time by emailing privacy@signatures.com. We may in our sole discretion remove content that we reasonably believe breaches this AUP.
3. No reliance as legal advice
Our guides, tools and templates are for general information only and are not legal advice. You are responsible for ensuring that any signature, document or process you create meets the legal requirements that apply to you. No content on the Site constitutes regulated legal advice, and you should take appropriate professional advice where required.
4. Reporting misuse
If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights or breaches this AUP, please contact us at info@signatures.com with sufficient details to allow us to investigate. We may request further information and will review reports within a reasonable timeframe.
Where we reasonably consider content to be unlawful or in breach of this AUP, we may remove or disable access to it without notice.
5. Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP from time to time. The latest version will be published on the Site, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
6. Consequences of breach
If you breach this AUP, we may take any action we reasonably consider appropriate, including removing content, withdrawing your access to the Site or its tools, and taking steps to prevent further access. Where appropriate, we may also report the matter to relevant authorities or cooperate with law enforcement. We reserve the right to take any action we reasonably consider appropriate to enforce this AUP and protect the Site, our users and our rights.
