Wet Ink Signature
Another name for a wet signature, stressing the physical ink on paper.
In Depth
A wet ink signature is the hand-signed, pen-on-paper mark, named for the ink that is wet when applied. The term usually comes up when contrasting old-fashioned signing with electronic methods. Even in a mostly digital world, some documents still require one.
The term means the same in the US, UK and EU. As with "wet signature," the difference across regions is not the definition but which specific documents still legally require ink, such as certain wills, deeds, and notarized paperwork.
